Douce Mountain Farm is on 49 acres of hillside in the beautiful Shehy Mountains in West Cork in the Southwest of Ireland. Farm and guesthouse are in the townland of Incharoe which has 9 scattered small sheep and cattle farms stretching uphill from the banks of the Owvane River to the top of Douce Mountain.

The guesthouse, is a small, stone-built traditional farmhouse, surrounded by hedges of fuchsia, with superb views along the Owvane River valley to Bantry Bay. Since 2009 we have had a new timber frame extension to the guesthouse which was built to ecological standards with the use of organic building components and nontoxic paints, oils, and materials. It provides us with a new spacious and bright meditation room, a new kitchen, dining and sitting area.

We like our guests to experience the wonderful stillness and seclusion of life in the wild beauty of the mountains. This requires a certain inner stillness, which we hope to assist in developing by offering daily Zazen, a seated silent meditation. We also hope to maintain an atmosphere in the guesthouse which nurtures inner silence.
