Accommodation

The guest house is a stone-built traditional farmhouse that we renovated and modernised. It is surrounded by hedges of fuchsia, and offers superb views along the Owvane River valley to Bantry Bay. A new extension has been added, providing a spacious and bright meditation/yoga room,  kitchen, dining and sitting area.  It was built to ecological standards with the use of organic building components and nontoxic paints, oils, and materials.

The guesthouse can comfortably accommodate 9 guests in 2 twin and 5 single rooms. It consits of 4 parts: The original farmhouse with a twin bedroom and an en-suite bathroom and 2 single rooms with one bathroom. There is a small extension with a twin bedroom and an en-suite bathroom, and a larger extension with 3 single bedrooms and one bathroom. Then there is the common area with a wood-burning stove and sitting area, the dining area, kitchen, meditation/yoga room and another bathroom.

There is no TV nor radio nor WiFi in the guesthouse. Mobile phone reception is good and so you have good internet connection via your phone.

Here are some photos with interior details.

Surroundings

The guest house is part of a 20 ha organic farm.

The 20 ha consist of fields for the cows, sheep and goats, a part of Douce Mountain and countless wild corners with little streams, small woodlands, imcluding a Magic Forest, and enough space for wildlife, birds and fairies. The Ouvane River is at the bottom of the farm. Parts of the farm are left untouched and are rewilding.

There is a wonderful view down the Ouvane River valley all the way to Bantry Bay.

Food

You may prepare your own meals. The kitchen is well equipped for your group or family. The nearest shop is in Kealkill, about 6 km from the farm. Bantry (19 km) has Super Value, Lidl and a phantastic health food shop. There is a big and colourful market on Fridays.
